Matthew Novak, CFP®

Financial Advisor

Matthew began his interest in finance at an early age while learning from his father the importance of saving and strength of compounding interest. While attending The Ohio State University he gravitated towards business and economics courses, graduating from Fisher business school with a B.S. in Finance.

Accepting a position in Morgan Stanley January 2012 he began the lengthy journey to become fully licensed by passing the Series 7, 63, and 65 exams. With a passion for the ocean and Caribbean he made the decision to move from Ohio and permanently relocate to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Over the next four years while working on one of the largest teams in south Florida Matthew expanded his knowledge and expertise by obtaining his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation. That experience opened his mind to what it truly means to be a fiduciary financial planner, and not limiting clients to just investment advice. Pursuing true financial planning Matthew and his long time colleague Billal Adam, CFP® decided to branch away from Morgan Stanley in 2018 and co-found Integral Wealth Planning, a branch of International Assets Advisory. Their decision was not made lightly and was a direct response to how clients are being treated at large brokerage firms.

“Moving away from the large brokerage firm to the independent side was a mental hurdle to overcome at first. As a society we’re led to believe that being with the most popular firm has to be in our best interest, when in fact that tends to be the opposite. Time and time again we’re shown the true agenda of the large brokerage firms to treat their clients and employees as numbers to increase shareholder profit margins. On the independent side we’re finally able to focus on individual client needs without the proprietary sales agenda.” – Matthew Novak, CFP®
